DBSUK: Stirchley’s Waterside Business Park Emerges as Birmingham’s Hottest New Hospitality Hub
Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone beer and a refined selection of wines are now being served in an unexpected yet exciting location: a former industrial unit in the up-and-coming suburb of Stirchley, Birmingham.
The Clubhouse, one of the newest additions to Waterside Business Park, joins a vibrant line-up of tenants already drawing crowds to this transformed site. It offers a chilled, social space complete with free-to-play arcade machines and a basketball hoop, encouraging groups of friends to engage, unwind, and reconnect offline.
The Clubhouse adds to the growing buzz at Waterside, which is also home to the acclaimed Glasshouse Brewery—where visitors can witness the brewing process on-site—as well as Greidy’s Wings and Strips, an award-winning street food restaurant and bar featured on BBC TV. Not to mention Carl Finn of We Chef, who brings bespoke soul food experiences and exclusive in-house dining to the mix.
Once home to a series of engineering and manufacturing firms, the site has undergone a dramatic transformation. Mark Darlaston, Director of DBSUK, the site’s owner, explained:
“The site was very run-down, reflecting the broader decline in UK engineering. We made the decision to upgrade and diversify the site’s purpose. All 30+ units have now been modernised to meet today’s standards, enabling us to introduce hospitality and lifestyle businesses. It’s now a key part of Birmingham’s entertainment scene.”
Stirchley itself has become a magnet for foodies and culture seekers, with everything from cheese and wine bars to Korean and Jamaican cuisine. Waterside Business Park taps directly into that energy.
Mark adds:
“We’re excited to be part of Stirchley’s growing reputation for unique venues. With more operators on the horizon, and our aim to welcome businesses in fitness, healthcare, and beauty, we’re redefining what industrial estates can be—and creating something the community can be proud of.”
With free parking, canal walks, and even spots for fishing, Waterside Business Park is fast becoming one of Birmingham’s most unexpected—and most exciting—hospitality destinations.
