Avison Young continues to grow its Scottish Transactions team
Avison Young continues to grow its Scottish Transactions team, with the recruitment of Craig Dodds and Ailsa Lamont in Edinburgh, and Eilidh MacPherson as a Graduate Surveyor in Glasgow.
Craig Dodds joins as Associate Director – Transactions, Edinburgh, and brings with him UK-wide experience as an asset manager dealing with all sectors, particularly industrial and logistics.
Craig said: “The collaborative and entrepreneurial nature of Avison Young is what attracted me to the business, with its culture very much promoting strategic and innovative thinking. My aim is to ensure that I support the existing Avison Young Transactions Team as we continue to adapt and provide a best-in-class service to all our clients across an array of sectors. One of the most rewarding aspects of working in property is the genuine variety it offers – no two days are the same. From managing significant city centre office refurbishments to enhancing the value of smaller industrial assets, the breadth of projects is vast. Scotland’s property market is incredibly diverse, and with the increasing emphasis on ESG, sustainability, and wellbeing, it’s exciting to see how landlords and occupiers are evolving to meet new priorities.”
Ailsa Lamont, based in Edinburgh, joins Avison Young as a new apprentice at a pivotal time for the business, as it continues to strengthen its position as a leader in the Scottish property market. Ailsa will play a key role in supporting a diverse range of projects while developing her expertise across multiple sectors. Her enthusiasm and passion for the property industry, is an asset to the team and reflects Avison Young’s commitment to investing in the future of the profession by nurturing emerging talent. With a strong presence across Scotland, Avison Young is dedicated to delivering innovative, client-focused solutions, and Ailsa’s addition to the team further reinforces this ethos.
Eilidh MacPherson, winner of the Women in Property Central Scotland Award 2023, shared: “I was drawn to Avison Young for its strong graduate program and the chance to work with a firm that combines regional expertise with a global presence. Meeting other graduates across the UK has been a great way to grow my network in the property industry. I also love exploring opportunities in Glasgow, as this city is undergoing an inspiring transformation – I’m eager to see what’s next. It’s been fascinating to observe how office use has evolved, especially post-pandemic.”
“Our three recent hires really add to our already strong brokerage and consultancy offer across all commercial sectors and Scottish geographies,” said Paul Broad, Principal and Head of Transactions, Scotland. “We pride ourselves in having a broad base of expertise and rely on our colleagues’ creativity and individuality to bring new ways of thinking to solve complex problems for our clients. That is what differentiates our offer in Scotland.”
