Sea Change Sussex: Property moves in Bexhill and Hastings
Bexhill Enterprise Park

High Weald House entrance
Economic development company Sea Change Sussex is seeing its Bexhill Enterprise Park go from strength to strength, with a number of companies having recently moved into its High Weald House business centre there. The latest two are startup Yokahu and professional services firm Perspective (South East) Ltd.
A pioneering insurance intermediary, Yokahu was founded in 2019 by experts in natural disaster insurance, climate finance technology and global weather modelling who believe the insurance sector has a vital role to play in building climate resilience.
Yokahu has developed specialised insurance against natural disasters resulting from the climate crisis, particularly supporting developing nations in Africa, the Caribbean and Asia Pacific. And the company is seeing rapid growth.
In addition to staff around the world, Yokahu has a business development department in central London and needed a base for its tech and operations team. So, its directors explored a range of options before deciding on High Weald House.
Co-founder Farid Tejani has now moved into the new office and is busy recruiting data scientists, finance professionals and software engineers.

He explained: “The south coast is a great place to run an insurance business as there’s a concentration of successful companies and talent here. We needed an office that’s extremely professional, well-designed and energy efficient. High Weald House ticks all those boxes.
“It’s in a sustainable location, which is important because our staff cycle or get public transport to work. And we have the flexibility to take more space within the building as our business grows.”
Financial advisory company Perspective (South East) Ltd has also relocated to an office in High Weald House to consolidate its East Sussex branches and support its continuing expansion.
Perspective Financial Group has 40 offices nationwide and provides a highly personalised service, maintaining the feel of a collection of local companies.
The southeast part of its business supports clients across Sussex, Surrey and Kent and had two branches in East Sussex – one in Eastbourne and one in St Leonards. The company recently decided to consolidate these branches, so sought a new office that could accommodate the two teams plus provide room for further expansion.
It chose High Weald House, and a 10-strong team of financial advisers, paraplanners and admin staff has now moved in.
Director Mark Taylor explained: “We wanted one larger, modern, high-quality office. It needed to project our professional image. And we needed ample car parking and great road connections to make it easy for our clients to visit us – and us them.
“We also needed premises that offer the flexibility to expand, as we’re forecasting consistent growth over the coming years.
“We deliver impartial, professional wealth management advice and we’re greatly looking forward to doing this from our prestigious new Bexhill offices!”
There are still some offices to let in High Weald House – from 620 to 6,915 sq ft to suit small, medium or large companies.
