Recent deals round-up

The Docklands office of sbh Page & Read has let a 12,550 sq ft industrial property in Barking to Kailo Fashions on a five-year lease. The annual rent on Units 1 & 2 at 75 River Road is £67,000. The firm has also let the office space at Unit C4 of Cairngorm House on Marsh Wall on a five-year lease. The 1,054 sq ft Docklands offices have been leased at an annual rent of £13,702 to Millnet Ltd.

sbh Page & Read has also let an industrial property in Bow, on the Stour Road Industrial Estate close to the Olympic Park, to the Black Eagle Brewery. The 5,250 sq ft property comprising Units 2 & 3 on the industrial estate has been let for six years at an annual rent of £50,000.

Among other recent deals, Gent Visick has announced the sale of an industrial property in Brighouse. Acting on behalf of Threadneedle Pensions, the firm together with joint agents Jones Lang LaSalle has sold the freehold interest in the 50,125 sq ft light industrial unit at Locksley Road to Frederick Crowther & Sons. The company, which makes conveyors and filtration equipment used by the machine tool industry, will be relocating its Yorkshire operations to this new factory from its existing Halifax property.

Andrew Gent from Gent Visick said: “The sale of Locksley Works to Frederick Crowther & Sons continues a recent trend of take-up of vacant accommodation by companies from within the manufacturing sector, which is a positive indicator for the resurgence of the manufacturing sector over the service sector.”

Meanwhile, GVA has let the 2,911 sq ft industrial property in Edinburgh at 499 Gorgie Road on a ten-year lease at a rent of £6.87 per square foot. It has also announced the sale of the 17,239 sq ft property at 43-45 Baileyfield Road in Edinburgh, for which offers over £1 million had been sought, to McCarthy & Stone.
