Top billing for UK at MIPIM 2011
Now the sweeping-up has begun after MIPIM 2010, investors and potential delegates are looking forward to next year’s get-together. The UK is to be the Guest of Honour at the property networking event in 2011 and the concluding tone of this year’s conference was upbeat, so expect even more regional stands and UK investment delegations next year.
The Riviera Times summed up the atmosphere by saying that the 18,000 delegates to MIPIM 2010 must have walked away with a spring in their step (what’s with all the “weary feet” tweets, then?) “with the words ‘investor confidence’ and ‘ambitious project presentations’ from major city delegations ringing in their ears”. It notes research from Jones Lang LaSalle and Cushman & Wakefield, both predicting sizeable increases in European property activity this year.
