Grange St Paul 1NovaLoca attended the West London Business Property Lunch last Friday, with the focus being very much on the previous day’s General Election.

Hosted in the stunning Grange St Pauls Hotel, with its incredible views of St Pauls Cathedral, The Shard and The Gherkin and Cheesegrater buildings, Melanie Leech of the British Property Federation was the guest speaker.

Following drinks and a lovely three course lunch, Leech gave a presentation focused on the impact of the General Election on the property market and what to expect over the coming months.

A recurring theme was HS2 and devolution of powers to the regions, with Leech saying: “Increased powers for local councils must be backed up by strong government leadership and government help.”Grange St Paul 3

As part of the body that works with the government and property industry, Leech said she expected the work of the last five years to continue: “We expect to do the same thing again after working with the coalition, but now with just the Conservatives.”

Leech also spoke of London as the driving force for the property industry across the UK, but ceded that the regions were also increasingly proving to be an attractive prospect for investors.

Attended by some of the leading business figures in West London and further afield, the property lunch was a fantastic afternoon for networking and business alike, all in the stunning St Pauls location.
