Purfleet-on-Thames lies within the Thurrock unitary authority approximately 18 miles east of central London. It is bordered by the River Thames to the south and the A13 to the north, which provides access to central London to the west and the M25 at junction 30 (Mar Dyke Interchange) to the east. Purfleet railway station provides regular direct services to London Fenchurch Street as well as regional links to surrounding towns such as Barking, Grays and Southend-on-Sea. Numerous bus services serve the area and Purfleet Freight Terminal provides freight crossing to Belgium and the Netherlands.
Garrison Parade lies off Saladin Drive, which lies to the west of Tank Hill Road in a predominantly residential location.
