Aviation House is a highly prominent corner building occupying a large site area of 0.90 acres and provides 164,173 sq ft of Grade A office and retail accommodation over lower ground, ground and eight upper floors.
Originally built in 1956, Aviation House was comprehensively redeveloped in 2000 to a design by renowned architects, Sheppard Robson. The building is constructed around a steel frame with predominately glazed frontages overlooking High Holborn and Kingsway, providing excellent natural light throughout the building.
The office accommodation incorporates the former Holy Trinity Church together with a two storey church hall to the rear of the site. From ground to fourth floors, the offices in the former church accommodation are linked to the principal office building fronting Kingsway and High Holborn. This is done via footbridges at either end of the atrium and adds a striking feature to the building.
The office accommodation totals 131,518 sq ft, arranged over basement, ground and eight upper floors and is accessed through the impressive concave facade of the former Holy Trinity Church, benefitting from a central semi-circular projecting portico of Corinthian columns. The former Holy Trinity Church is incorporated into the main office building and serves to provide a striking entrance for the office accommodation. A glazed atrium links the reception area with the principal office accommodation which is served by four 13 person passenger lifts, providing access to the lower ground, ground and eight upper floors.
The retail accommodation has a prominent frontage to both Kingsway and High Holborn. The retail units are set out over ground and lower ground floors and comprise 32,655 sq ft in total, providing excellent trading space with enviable frontages and efficient configurations. The Sainsbury’s unit is accessed from an entrance on the corner of Kingsway and High Holborn and the Boots unit is accessed via an entrance on Kingsway.
