The subject site is of level contour with an area in the order of 2.0 hectares (5.0 acres). It benefits from a 6ft chain link fence to all sides. It was previously used as a vehicle storage compound. The site is part concrete surfaced with access from Europa Way to the south west.
The renewable energy plant will process 71 tonnes per day of whole end-of-waste tyres to produce a manufactured de-wired tyre chip to be pyrolysed in to Syn-Diesel and Syn-Gas for energy production.
The plant will pre=process circa 662 tonnes per week (circa 35,000 tonnes per annum) of End of Life (EoL) tyres in to 497 tonnes per week of de-wired equestrian grade tyre chip plus 165 tonnes per week of recovered steel. The de-wired tyre chip will be fed continually to the pyrolysis plant at a rate of 71 tonnes per day.
The plant will operate on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week basis with the fuel preparation plant operating 10 hours per day, 5 days a week.
The pyrolosis system will produce enough synthetic diesel and gas to produce a gross electrical output of 7.9MW.
