Location
Aviemore is situated just off the A9, approximately 30 miles South of Inverness and benefits from excellent road and rail links to both the north of Scotland and the central belt.
Situated in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, Aviemore is a popular tourist destination, particularly for outdoor enthusiasts and attracts visitors with interests in sking, snowboarding, biking and hillwalking.
In addition to a wide range of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, Aviemore is also home to the Macdonald Highland Resort and is only a short drive to Cairngorm Mountain Ski Resort and Kincraig Wildlife Park. The Strathspey Railway (the only steam railway in the Highlands) is also a popular tourist attraction and adds to the vibrancy of the town.

The subjects comprise a former school building of brick and breezeblock construction, under a sloping, corrugated metal roof. The majority of the site is on hardstanding with a perimeter fence surrounding the site which extends to approximately 1.4345ha.
