The building itself is largely of stone construction contained under pitched and slatted roofs, the premises having undergone an extensive refurbishment programme due to fire damage.

HISTORY - Built between 1895 and 1897 as the Carron Company’s manager’s house and given the name, Carron Grange, by the then General Manager.

Carron Grange was sold to Central Regional Council in the late 1970s for use as a Teacher Training centre. The house and estate were later bought by developers (Carronvale Homes) in the early 1990s and subsequently by the current owners The Scottish Building Federation, who used it as their headquarters. During 2009-2020 the property was leased as a kindergarten with the building being returned to use as the Head Office for the Scottish Building Federation in 2020.

In 2012 the Building was seriously damaged by fire which was restored at a cost of approximately £XXXm
