Huddersfield is the administrative centre and largest town in the Kirklees district and lies approximately 15 miles south west of Leeds and 30 miles north east of Manchester. It can be accessed via the A62, A640 and A629 all of which provide access to the national motorway network. Huddersfield railway station provides regional rail services as well as regular direct services to Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly. Additonally numerous bus routes serve the area and Leeds Bradford Airport lies approximately 22 miles to the north east.
Huddersfield is served by one university, this being the University of Huddersfield, which has approximately 20,000 students.
Ray Street runs west from Great Northern Street to the north of the town centre with the property commanding a prominent corner position at the junction with Lower Viaduct Street.
