The travelling distance to the capital of Edinburgh is around one hour via the A7 and Galashiels is also 62 miles North of Carlisle. Galashiels is now recognised as the commercial heart of the Scottish Borders with an established town centre and the recent opening of the town’s rail link to Edinburgh and ongoing expansion of the town generally serving to boost the profile and facilities of the town going forward.
