Planning consent was previously granted in 2006 for a roadside facilities development which included a petrol station, hotel, drive through restaurant, pub/restaurant and replacement sports pitch. This development included a new spur access off the roundabout at junction 2A of M73 motorway. The consent reference was N06/00655/REM.
We understand a material start to the proposed development took place and therefore the reserved matters permission was considered to have formally commenced.

Interest has in the past also been received from a volume of house builders due to its strategic location close to the M73/74 motorway network. The site is within the Gartcosh/Glenboig CGA strategic development framework and falls within the identified sub-area of Johnston Road (south). The framework identifies this area indicatively for 140-150 residential units.
