Location
La Gondola is situated at the northern end of the High Street in the centre of Kirkcaldy, the largest town in Fife. The town is nowadays the service centre of Fife, with a shopping centre, new swimming pool, new NHS hospital, museums, the Adam Smith Theatre, a professional football team, art gallery and three public parks. A cinema complex is proposed and under planning. The harbour was reopened to commercial shipping in 2011. The town has a population of around 49,700 persons which is similar in size to Stirling and Perth, whom were recently reclassified as cities.

The Restaurant - The Restaurant is decorated to a high standard, providing a well lit and easily managed dining area for up to 70 covers. The area is furnished with a range of square wooden tables and wooden dining chairs with rattan seats. There are two passes into the kitchen. The bar servery is recessed along one wall of the room. The well equipped servery is of a traditional construction with wooden paneling to the front, formica clad work surface. One end of the servery is set up a dessert perpetration area.
The Kitchen - The Kitchen is of a good size and well laid out for ease of use. The area is lit with ceiling mounted circular fluorescent light fittings with diffusers. Walls are clad with easy clean Formica cladding and stainless steel cladding around the cooking area. The Kitchen is equipped with two six ring commercial ranges with double ovens, a double Lincat tabletop deep fat fryer, a double pizza oven, a stainless steel refrigeration unit with marble work surface and chilled gastronorm display and various refrigeration, freezers and preperatition areas.
To the side of the kitchen is a recessed dishwash area. This is equipped with two pot sinks with drainers, a douche shower head and commercial dish and glass washers.
The Ladies and Gents WCs - The Ladies and Gents WC’s are located at the rear of the premises and have been recently refurbished to a very high standard.
The Cellar and Stores - Accessed from the rear car park, or via internal stairs off the passageway to the cloakrooms, are the rear store areas. These are at a higher level than the ground floor. The area provides a beer cellar/wine and spirits store; a store room and a refrigeration and freezer room. The latter can be accessed directly from the car park for deliveries.
