THE BUSINESS - The Plough Inn is a well established and renowned Village Inn which attracts customers not only from the village but from surrounding towns and villages for bar meals etc. The menu consists of traditional bar favourites along with “specials”.

The village of Star is situated in the heart of rural Fife, yet within easy reach of Edinburgh around 45 minutes’ drive away and about 40 minutes by train via Markinch Railway Station just two miles from Star.

Nearby towns include Glenrothes, less than 10 minutes’ drive away and St. Andrews which is approximately a 30 minutes’ drive. Apart from The Plough Inn other facilities within the village include a community hall and a primary school. The village is surrounded by lovely rural countryside with the owners’ house overlooking fields to the rear.

THE PREMISES - The baris a characterful room with mock beamed ceiling, tartan carpet, assorted seating around bar tables. To one end is a solid fuel burning stove which sub-divides the main bar with the ante room/games room. This room can be used for small meetings, private dining as well as a games room having a pool table and darts lane. The bar servery has a timber frontage and the usual equipment behind. To the far end is the dining area which continues with a similar style of decor and has windowing on two sides giving an abundance of natural light into the room. There is a feature fireplace, wall lighting with the room catering for around 24 covers.

SERVICE AREAS - Directly off the public areas is a commercial kitchen with quarry tiled floor and a selection of commercial kitchen equipment. To the far end is the cellar, dry goods store and ladies & gents toilets. To the front of the Inn is a customer car park.

EXTERNAL - To the front of the business is an area where bar tables are laid out during the summer months. There is also a loose surfaced customer car park.
