Planning
The site lies within the administrative local authority area of Weymouth & Portland Borough Council and is suitable for re-development to mixed uses including residential and commercial.
Weymouth & Portland Planning Committee have resolved to grant outline planning permission under reference WP/15/00031/OUT for the demolition of the existing North Quay office buildings and redevelopment with approximately 72 dwellings and approximately 216 sq m of commercial space (Outline) subject to the following being achieved by way of legal arrangement; (1) a financial contribution of £XXX towards flood defences and £XXX towards off-site highway improvements and (2) provision of 30% affordable housing.
It is a requirement that any purchaser will enter into a legal agreement with the Council as part of the purchase arrangements to secure such planning obligations should they wish to rely on the outline planning permission.
Any alternative planning application sought by a prospective purchaser will be considered against the relevant planning policies at the time and will be subject to similar obligations although there is no guarantee that amounts indicated would be the same for future applications.
