At present the site currently comprises of an undeveloped area of land and a disused former airfield.
The site benefits from having full planning permission (subject to a number of conditions) for the erection of a Woollen Mill to include a Weaving, Dye & Blend Factory, Administrations and Visitor Centre with associated landscaping, Car Parking and new access.
Furthermore the buildings have been computer modelled to achieve an “Excellent” BREEAM rating for sustainability and have included a number of passive heating environmental principles such as:
• North facing roof lights to gain natural light
• Insulated roof lights
• South sloping roofs for future solar panels
• Windows positioned to gain right amount of heat from sun throughout the year
In addition to the above a number of environmental aspects of the above have been designed for sustainability and include:
• Fully designed zero discharge effluent treatment and water recycling plant
• Rainwater harvesting
• Reed bed and storm water ponds with Evapotranspiration
We believe the site may be suitable for a number of alternative uses under the current planning permission.
