Within the hotel grounds, immediately to the South of the
private driveway, is an area of ground which extends to circa
4.3 acres. This comprises the former walled garden and stable
courtyard and is outlined in red on the site plan below which
will be accessed via the shared driveway coloured yellow.
Planning consent has been obtained for the construction
of four residential dwellings within the walled garden, and
conversion of the stable courtyard to provide three dwellings.
The four dwellings within the walled garden comprise split
level, contemporary homes set within spacious gardens.
The three dwellings within the courtyard are of varying sizes;
offering two, three and four bedrooms.

Location
The site is situated within the grounds of the Cartland Bridge
Hotel on the Western periphery of Lanark, the historic county
town of Lanarkshire.
Lanark is a traditional market town serving the local population
of in excess of 10,000 in addition to the surrounding rural
areas and communities. The town has a range of amenities
to include various supermarkets, a retail park, schools and a
swimming pool.
The site is situated at the top of the Clyde Valley, a popular
tourist route with various garden centres attracting a high
number of visitors on a daily basis. New Lanark, which is one
of Scotland’s six World Heritage Sites, is also nearby which
incorporates a restored cotton mill and the Falls of Clyde,
again, visited by many throughout the year.
Lanark is located approximately 25 miles South East of
Glasgow and 35 miles South West of Edinburgh. The main
roads within the town are the A73 which links with the M8
motorway and the A72 linking with the A74 via the picturesque
Clyde Valley road route. Lanark railway station also operates
a regular service to Glasgow Central via Motherwell, providing
access to other routes including Edinburgh.
