Irvine is one of Scotland’s new towns and is situated within the North Ayrshire authority area and serves as the main administrative centre for the Council. The A77/M77 provides further access to Glasgow and the wider Scottish motorway network. There is a regular railway service on a half hourly timetable. Glasgow Prestwick International Airport is situated approximately 7 miles to the south and is connected to the rail network. Irvine also benefits from a well served bus route in all directions.
