The Royal Hotel has a public bar, very popular with locals throughout the year, a lounge bar to the rear and separate dining room serviced by a well-equipped commercial kitchen. Location
The Royal is centrally located within Stromness, in the Orkney islands. Stromness is Orkney’s second largest settlement having a thriving town centre and is steeped in a rich and enduring history making it a very popular destination for tourists throughout the year.
Stromness forms a good base for touring the various sites of historical interest the islands are famous for. These include the Heart of Neolithic Orkney, a World Heritage Site comprising the Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the Stones of Stenness and Maeshowe. All of which are within easy reach of the town centre.
The town is also home to the busy Stromness Ferry Terminal with daily sailings to and from Scrabster on the mainland.
