The property comprises a former Country House now the Mansfield Manor Hotel being of an imposing Grade II Listed early 19th century construction with mid 19th century and 20th century additions and alterations.

It is of an Ashlar stone construction with Ashlar dressings and hipped slated roofs with four ridge stacks predominantly arranged over two storeys and with three bay elevations.

The south front has a semi-circular painted Ashlar porch with clustered columns and cornice, incorporating glazed doors with overlights. Internally, the property benefits from numerous period features including staircase hall, with mutule ceiling cornice, Adam style frieze and oval skylight, containing a stone dogleg staircase with shaped landing, stick balusters and ramped scrolled handrail. Other period features include original marble chimney pieces.

Mansfield is an industrial location in central Nottinghamshire that has been heavily influenced by its industrial past with coal mining and textiles thriving in the district until their decline in 1990s. Manufacturing still remains a major employment sector within the town, however there has been a significant decrease in distribution warehouse operators, particularly along the western A38 corridor to the M1 Junction 28.

The market town of Mansfield is situated approximately 17 miles north of Nottingham, 11 miles south east of Chesterfield, 13 miles south of Worksop and 24 miles north east of Derby. The town serves an urban population of approximately 100,000 and benefits from easy access to the M1 motorway at Junctions 28 and 29. Other major roads in the area include the A38, A617 and A60. The town railway station is on the Robin Hood line which provides regular services to Worksop and Nottingham with connections via East  Midlands Trains to London St Pancras. East Midlands Airport lies approximately 27 miles to the south.

Mansfield has an urban area population of 69,987 and a district population of 104,466 as measured in the 2011 census.
