From information provided, we calculate the site to extend to approximately 4.565 hectares (11.26 acres). The site is bound by Raebog Road to the south-east, the access road to the Pinwhinnie site and the former coal reclamation workings at Pinwhinnie. Opposite and to the south, is the Albert Bartlett potato processing plant. A modern housing estate forms the eastern edge of Glenmavis.

Location

Airdrie is located approximately 13 miles east of Glasgow City Centre, 5 miles east of the town of Coatbridge and 1 ½ miles north of the M8 offering good means of access to the Central Scotland motorway network and beyond. According to the 2011 Census, the population of Airdrie is 37,132. Airdrie enjoys good communication links being close to the M8 and motorways which form part of the main Central Scotland motorway network and the A73 which links the M74 motorway at Abington to the A80 at Cumbernauld.

The town enjoys reasonable public transport links with a main line railway station located within the town centre. Situated around 2.5 miles north of Airdrie, this rare development opportunity can be accessed from Airdrie itself or from Raebog Road, which forms part of the main distributor route, the B803. The site itself is located on the north side of Raebog Road (B803) a short distance to the east of its junction with the A73.
