La Belle Angele was caught up in the fire at the Cowgate in 2002. The business occupies the ground floor of the recently reconstructed mixed use property which includes a Hotel above the nighclub. The property is therefore built to modern building standards and during the rebuild the nightclub was fully soundproofed. We understand that this is one of the only nightclub in Edinburgh to have this level of sound protection. The nightclub is accessed off Hastie’s Close near to the Cowgate.

La Belle Angele is sited just off the Grassmarket in the centre of Edinburgh. The city is Scotland’s capital city and has a resident population of 459,000 persons. In addition we understand that some 3.5m visitors come to the city every year, and the city is world famous for the arts and comedy festival in August. It should be noted that this is not the only festival put on by the city every year.

The Grassmarket is a very popular night time centre within Edinburgh. There are many public houses, restaurants and cafés located there.
