The site, shown outlined in red, extends to approximately 0.445 ha (1.01 acres) and lies within a predominantly resi-dential area. It is bounded on two sides by Ladyland Road and to the rear adjoins land proposed for residential develop-ment. Two small dilapidated stone stores fronting Ladywell Road are all that remain of the 1878 Maybole Combination Poors House and Council Yard which formerly occupied this site. The land is walled and the majority of the area hard standing . There is a slight and gentle slope down from West to East (ie towards its Ladyland Road frontage) .
Location
Centrally situated in this historic burgh the site lies 200m from Maybole Railway Station (on the Glasgow/Stranraer mainline) and offers ready access to the A77(T). Maybole lies some 9 miles South of Ayr and 40 miles SSW of Glasgow.
