Bordering Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex and with a coastline on the North Sea, Suffolk is a low-lying county with much land given to wetland habitats and arable land. The County town of Ipswich is England’s oldest continuously settled town. Other commercial and retail towns in the region include Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Lowestoft, Britain’s most easterly town, whilst Felixstowe is one of the largest container ports in Europe.
The A12 runs along the coast of Suffolk whilst the A14 runs west to east through the region linking the region to Cambridge and on into Northamptonshire.
