Shetland commercial property locations
Shetland is a collection of 100 individual islands although only 15 are populated. They are located to the north-east of the Orkney Islands off the coast of Scotland and have seen increased prosperity since the opening of the oil terminal at Sullom Voe. The islands administrative centre is Lerwick which is the only town.
Transport between the islands and to the Scottish mainland at Aberdeen is by ferry. Alternatively, the airport to the south of Lerwick offers flights to other islands, Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands and Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh on the mainland. During the summer months some flights are also run to London Stanstead.
