Cheshire commercial property locations
A largely rural county Cheshire shares borders with Greater Manchester and Merseyside, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and the Welsh county of Clwyd. The County town is Chester although the largest town in the county is Warrington. Other significant commercial centres include Congleton, Crewe and Ellesmere Port which grew from trading along the Shropshire Union and Manchester ship canals. Cheshire is famed for its cheese, although the counties industrial history includes salt, bulk chemicals and silk weaving.
Crewe was built for the staff of Crewe train station which was then a major interchange for train lines running from north to south and east to west of England, Wales and Scotland. It continues to function in this way today connecting the counties commercial towns and cities to others across the country. The M6, M56, M53 and M62 motorways also cross the county.
